Approximately 30,000 individual messages will be tied together and flown above the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. The work will be executed by L.A.-based Poetic Kinetics, which has a series of similar projects called ‘Skynet,’ in which banners are hung together to make distinguishable, flowing objects. This piece, titled “Visions in Motion,’ was inspired by the idea of streaking light through the darkness. A rendering of the project can be seen at poetickinetics.com.
