A victim is in critical condition following a shooting Thursday night at Westfield Culver City (formerly Fox Hills Mall). The shooting occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. that night by Sheik Shoes, and the victim was transported to the hospital soon after in critical condition.
The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, at least one of which was to the leg, where a tourniquet was applied by responding Culver City Police Department officers. While CCPD was able to take one suspect into custody, it was determined that he was most likely not involved in the shooting.
The suspect at large is described as a 5’8”-5’10” black male with a medium build wearing a gray hooded jacket, jeans, and black shoes. The shooting was carried out with a handgun, and multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
Police believe that the shooting occurred following a three-person dispute captured on security footage of the incident released by police following the incident. Officers were able to safely evacuate the mall and establish a perimeter to search for the suspects, but were unable to make any arrests. The suspects were last seen running towards the mall’s exits.
