Local genre-blending group Talkin’ Treason performs at the Cinema bar at the weekend, so founding member Bob Ricketts told the News about what they have in store for Culver City…
When did you start playing and performing?
Twelve years ago. I wanted to work with an old friend, Laura Smith. I recruited her. She is the girlfriend of the Groovy Rednecks singer, Tex [Troester].
Describe your sound/style?
Very eclectic. Everything from old blues to French EDM and more.
What are your career highlights so far?
We have had a cello player and a dobro player work with us. We recorded with a friend at his place–Christopher Lockett.
What recorded music is available — particularly the most recent?
Our most recent releases will be on our pages or our Facebook site.
Have you performed at the Cinema Bar before?
Many many times. Too many to list. We love that place!
What can the audience expect from the set this time?
A very varied show.
What else do you have coming up?
We are writing new songs, and we want to record in the near future.
