Culver City school board candidate Nancy Goldberg kicked off her campaign on July 31 at the home of Michael and Judy Bauer. Attendees greeted her with hugs, words of admiration and committed support for Nov. 8 election bid.
Many former students from her decades of teaching at Culver City High School came to offer help in her campaign. Elected officials present, including city councilman Chris Armenta, school board members Steve Gourley, Patricia Siever and Karlo Silbiger, echoed each other’s words of praise for Goldberg, saying that she is the “best person for the job.”
Goldberg responded to the praise by saying that once on the board she would “thoroughly research every issue that comes before her and do what is best for the students.”
Goldberg recently retired from teaching at the Culver City High School and decided to focus her time and energy to serving on the school board. She said that being a board member is a natural transition from her years in the classroom and would enable her to continue providing the best education possible for the children of Culver City.
