A team of 10th-grade students were recently recognized at the 2011 Digital Voice Video Awards for their student-created video project. Under the direction of Physical Education teacher Valerie Yokogawa and help from technology technician Mary Vanloo, they created the movie Biomechanics in Basketball, which incorporates biomechanical principles and physical education into the curriculum.

The California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) Region 11 and Multimedia Services of the Instructional Technology Outreach division of the Los Angeles County Office of Education invites kindergarten through high school educators from Los Angeles County to submit exemplary classroom instructional technology projects to the Digital Voice awards. Entries are judged and honorees are recognized in an awards ceremony held online.

Accepting congratulations for the honor were Jacqueline Wileman, James Chandruang, Harper Schoenfeld, Mathew Goldsmith, Andrew Flores, Yokogawa and Vanloo.
