Parks and Playgrounds – The Culver City After School Recreation Program (CCARP) is celebrating the holiday season with a party , Dec. 21, after which time, the program will be on a two-week holiday break.
Culver City Events – The City of Culver City and the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics co-presented a free Gymnastics Spectacular on Sunday, Dec. 16 in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
Over 40 gymnastic students participated in this family-friendly event and approximately 175 people attended.
Veterans Memorial Building – The City of Culver City will present a “Made in Culver City” screening of “A Night at the Opera,” featuring The Marx Brothers, in honor of the City’s 95th Anniversary.
The screening will take place on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 3 p.m. in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium and is free and open to the public. “Made in Culver City” is sponsored by Sony Pictures Entertainment with the participation of the UCLA Film & Television Archives, the Culver City Historical Society, and Steeldeck, Inc.
Patrons are encouraged to visit the Culver City Historical Society’s Archive Resource Center, located at the back of Veterans Memorial Building, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the screening. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.culvercity.org or call (310) 253-5716.
Veterans Memorial Complex Rentals – Staff has completed new web pages on the City’s website for the Veterans Memorial Complex rental operation.
New photos and layouts for the Veterans Memorial Building, the Teen Center and the Senior Center, as well as rental information, have been added to assist prospective renters.
