April 28, 2014 (Culver City, California) – Westfield Culver City has teamed up with Bright Pink®, a national non-profit organization that supports breast and ovarian health in young women, for its first-ever VIPink weekend on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 from Noon to 4 p.m.
Shoppers who purchase a $10 VIPink Card will receive a 20 percent discount from more than 30 participating retailers. The VIPink Card can be pre-ordered online at www.eventbrite.com by searching Westfield Culver City VIPink or purchased at Westfield Culver City’s “Pink Central,” located in Center Court.
All proceeds from card sales will benefit Bright Pink. The card is only valid May 3-4.
“The VIPink weekend is the perfect opportunity for moms, daughters and girlfriends to enjoy a weekend of pampering and shopping with fabulous discounts and special events, all while raising funds and critical awareness about the importance of early cancer detection and education for young women everywhere,” says Shaun Swanger, Vice President, Marketing, Westfield.
Bright Pink is on a mission to reach the 52 million women in the US between the ages of 18-45 who have never been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer. These women have the power to be proactive – to reduce their risk for these diseases or detect them at an early, non-life-threatening stage.
“Bright Pink is thrilled to be teaming up with Westfield once again to deliver our lifesaving message to shoppers throughout the country. The critical funds raised through VIPink weekend and VIPink card sales will fuel Bright Pink’s education and support programs to empower young women to be proactive with their breast and ovarian health,” said Bright Pink Founder and CEO, Lindsay Avner.
