In his new children’s story book “Diana the Organic Banana”, author Francesco J. Caputo draws from his background as nutritional counselor to bring awareness about healthy eating to children and parents alike.
Named after Dr. Caputo’s daughter Diana, the book is meant to inspire both kids and adults to live a healthier lifestyle by making wise dietary choices.
Caputo recognizes that it is easy to get caught in the cycle of eating fast food or other unhealthy fare, but he urges people that they must work hard to stop the rise in obesity.
“My goal is to have my book and healthy characters in every type of doctor’s office, in schools and a part of everyone’s family,” said Caputo.
Using fun and interesting characters, Caputo hopes to show readers simple things such as how junk food is not a good choice and healthy foods are much better for you.
These essential messages are meant to be interpreted easily by readers of all age groups, hopefully inspiring them to make better choices.
“We as parents, teachers and health care professionals need to take charge of our children’s health,” says Caputo. “Also, we must set an example by eating healthy and staying fit, and not letting social media influence us into consuming unhealthy products.”
Francesco J. Caputo is a doctor of chiropractic medicine. He received his degree at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. Caputo is a personal trainer, a fitness and nutritional counselor and a motivational speaker on health and fitness.
