Two minors, both male, from Los Angeles were arrested on Monday, July 29 for breaking into a Culver City school and spraying graffiti, some of which included hate speech. Neither individual was a student at the school.
According to a report on KTLA, “the unidentified boys are accused of breaking into El Marino Language School at 11450 Port Rd. last Thursday.” That would be July 25.
CCPD officers called to the scene found one broken window, and graffiti in more than one part of the school.
Officers didn’t say exactly what the content of the graffiti was, but specified that it included hate speech.
“Because school is out of session, no students at the school witnessed any of the vandalism,” the report stated. “The two boys were arrested by police and released back to the custody of their parents, police said. Neither boy is a student of the Culver City School District.”
“Culver City police will continue to collaborate closely with the Culver City Unified School District to support our school community and ensure the safety and well-being of our school campuses,” the CCPD said in a statement. “Additional patrols of the area are being conducted for added peace of mind.”
