Lazy, dreamy, unhurried days

On Tuesday, the Sun (Cancer, summer solstice) reached its farthest northern position at the Tropic of Cancer (23 degrees 27, North Pole, Earth’s axis, maximum inclination). For 72 hours, the Sun is still in this northern position. After three days of stillness, the pole begins to slowly tilt in the opposite direction, the light begins to decrease, the days grow shorter and the nights longer. An imperceptible change (of light) overtakes the atmosphere. Summer is here.

The life force, rushing into spring and creating tall, leggy green growth in the plant kingdom, settles down into an unhurried, lazy and dreamy subdued heat. The human kingdom, expressing heavenly energies, seeks instead of long, overheated laborious work, more mellow activities – leisure, rest, relaxation and vacations. Summer, we all think, is supposed to be fun. If we watch carefully, we notice the plants begin to grow differently as they head toward harvest. Newborns in the animal kingdom turn into teenagers. The signs of summer are Cancer (the gate where spirit enters matter), Leo (the heart of all that matters is love) and Virgo (pregnant Madonna gestating a new state of consciousness).

This summer we have Jupiter in Taurus, sign of the ultimate comfort, the art of living (languorously). Jupiter is the planet of good fortune, known to bring opportunities and opulent expansion (so much so that we can overdo everything). Jupiter brings temptation, too. As Librans get thinner (Saturn’s in Libra), Taurus (with Jupiter there) needs to carefully watch food intake, lest extravagance overtake them. Mars has entered Gemini, rushing to meet his partner Venus in Gemini.

With Mars in Gemini, we move forward quickly, having no time or patience to lounge away on Taurus couches. We have places to go, things to do, desires and aspirations to fulfill. Uranus in Aries – the revolution continues – here, there and everywhere. The economic situation is erratic and destabilizing. The United States prepares for the dweller, its Saturn return in August. Do we all have greenhouses, gardens and bees yet?

ARIES: New archetypes (patterns) concerning money and values appear throughout the coming year. Afterward, looking back on how you valued, used, worked with, made money and what your values were, you’ll see the shift. It’s most important to create strategic plans for budgeting, accounts, savings and tracking all finances in detail. Should you consider investing, consider land as a lasting resource.

TAURUS: Perhaps in the past, you felt the need for more self-confidence. In the coming year, self-confidence, self-reliance and the ability to know more of yourself and your abilities will emerge, expand and fill you with self-assurance, poise, dignity and grace. Wherever you find yourself, that’s where you are to work. Whatever you’re called to do, have the highest of intentions. Soon, many repairs will need tending.

GEMINI: It’s time to review your past year in preparation for your incoming year, begun at your birthday. The review includes all actions, things you’ve produced, brought to flower, people you’ve spoken with, made promises to and dreams that didn’t come true. Consider what was happy for you and what will make you joyful in the coming year. Notice the two different words. A new cycle begins as Mars has entered Gemini (with Venus): a new year of new endeavors. What would you like to do? Where will you go?

CANCER: New people, new confidence and new groups in the coming year, beckon to you, extending their hands in invitations. Friendships blossom and you will find yourself mingling and networking, interacting and sharing. Are you avoiding anyone? Step into their world and find out who they are, what they need and like. Hopes, wishes and dreams fill your mind and heart with messages. Create a hope, wishes and dreams journal. Don’t lose it.

LEO: Do you feel in conflict? There are so many avenues calling your attention. First, is the idea of remaining behind the scenes in a state of retreat. Then, there’s the tremendous demand facing you at work, which will only become greater. Then, there are all the people seeking your advice, inviting you here and there to be part of their vision. I need to ask, “What is your vision of success?” Because success is calling to you and it’s about to appear. You can direct it.

VIRGO: In the coming year, you must begin to travel, enter school, study, publish or begin a long adventure. Everything faraway is interesting – even destinations others would never contemplate. At times, you’ll consider lands different, far away and foreign. Bear in mind that this needs deep reflection. The exotic is not always comfortable. However, a new journey of the mind is what you need. Call forth daily, for liberation’s sake, new archetypes of thoughts and thinking

LIBRA: For a long time, you’ve adhered to one particular path, following those you love without discrimination. Love came first, always – a good ethic and value. Now, however, something’s changing. Too much is uncomfortable. You seek to realize what makes you happy and joyful. You’ll need courage to face the truth and courage to set yourself on the path (a journey) toward happiness. Here is a mantra for you: “May reality govern my every thought, and truth be the master of my life.”

SCORPIO: The area of life called “relationships” becomes full of opportunities, personal and worldly. Something deep and profound occurs with either a friend or family member. It’s important that you consider either creating or expanding your professional work. Ask those close to you for help – they can be of great benefit and blessings if you are kind and grateful. Have a focused, determined and analytical mind with finances. Don’t waffle and don’t gamble.

SAGITTARIUS: The most realistic time in our lives is each moment. Most of us unconsciously allow each moment to slip by, seeking what we don’t have, wondering when vicissitudes will end, when the rainbow will appear. However, should we be aware of each moment, they begin to feel like blessings. This perception of time, different and conscious, allows us to be more authentic, spontaneous and free. For the next year, be careful with diet, eating only what vitalizes and is touched by the sun. Exercise more. Love more.

CAPRICORN: The surprise for you is that a great creative talent comes forth from within; a creativity greater than you’ve experienced before. It will make you explore all areas in the arts. For Caps who are single, you may experience a new love affair (watch out). If committed, married and parenting, love blooms deeper for partner and children. You might find yourself with many tasks to perform this summer. Protect your hands and arms with gloves. Check the car, too.

AQUARIUS: Something new concerning family, property, real estate or home materializes in the coming year. You may buy or sell, create family property, move, form community or create a collective. It is good to look forward to various ways of living that are different than what you are used to. Something about family develops, increases and expands. You find yourself at times staying closer to home after traveling here and there. You know everyone. Family becomes everything (again).

PISCES: New ideas, thoughts and thinking pick up their pace, life moves into the fast lane, new people enter your life and you seek the world of art, music and culture. People will notice you’ve become more optimistic. That dark-night-of-the-soul approach has been tiring. No one’s listening anymore. Certain situations at home seek detailed attention, tending and organizing. Give away everything not used in the past months. Someone else needs them.
