On Saturday, October 5, 2024, L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) will host a special fundraiser at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Campus at Royce Quad from 12 p.m. to  4 p.m.

This event will help raise money for childhood cancer research that is not well-funded by the federal government. Money raised will help to contribute towards cancer research grants, clinical trials, treatments, and cures (www.alexslemonade.org).

According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2024), approximately 400,000 children between the ages of 0 -19 years old around the world develop cancer every year. It is estimated that 90% of childhood cancers occur in low-and-middle income countries where majority of the cancers are undiagnosed or not treated (WHO, 2024). In the United States, approximately 17,000 children are diagnosed annually resulting in about 1,800 deaths.

What to expect? Are you and your family foodies?

Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of food and fun meeting a variety of top chefs, brewers, vintners, and mixologists from Los Angeles and the U.S. supporting ALSF and sample food and drinks. In 2023, an estimated $1.3 million was raised to help children with cancer. Visit www.alexslemonade.org for more details, ways to support and donate, and ticket information.

Contact Sara Moyer at S.Moyer@AlexsLemonade.org for more information. KidScoop Media will be there to cover the event. We hope to see you at the ALSF fundraiser!
