It’s not just movie stars that are up for accolades this awards’ season thanks to Best Friends Animal Society’s “aCATemy Awards” promotion in Los Angeles, which offers $14 adoptions for any cat older than six months through March 9, fabulous adoptable felines are getting their turn in the spotlight.

“Cats make wonderful pets, yet thousands are killed in Los Angeles shelters every year simply because they don’t have a home,” Kari Hartkorn, communications manager for Best Friends Animal Society – Los Angeles, said. “The Oscars are so L.A. and aCATemy Awards is a super fun way to showcase the awesome cats looking for homes in Los Angeles.”

With her dramatic, fluffy coat and larger than life personality, four-year-old Bonnie (aka Gwyneth Pawltrow) is leading the feline pack for Best Cat-ress at the Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills.

At the NKLA Pet Adoption Center in West Los Angeles, handsome young gray and white Ash (aka George Clawney) is in the running for Best Cat in a supporting role, as he loves all his feline buddies and would love to be part of a multi-cat household.

All cats adopted at either center are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped while adopters receive a custom pet tag, bag of cat food and one-month free veterinary insurance.

“And the winner is…anyone who adopts a cat from our centers during aCATemy Awards,” Hartkorn said.

The Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center located at 15321 Brand Blvd. in Mission Hills, and NKLA Pet Adoption Center located at 1845 Pontius Ave. in Los Angeles are conveniently located within minutes of major freeways and open daily from Noon to 8 p.m. For more information or to view adoptable cats, visit www.bestfriends.org/adoptla.
