Kaiser Permanente’s West Los Angeles Medical Center and nine other Kaiser Permanente Southern California medical centers have been named as 2013 “Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®” by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States. Kaiser Permanente Southern California hospitals were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance.

The West Los Angeles Medical Center is being recognized for the following measure set: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
“This is a tremendous achievement that reflects an extraordinary team effort,” Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center Executive Director Georgina Garcia said. “I am so proud of the dedication of our entire health care team. In order to earn this Top Performer accolade, hospitals must have attained and sustained excellence in accountability measures in 2013 that include surgical care, venous thromboembolism and stroke care.
