Humbly-monikered Americana artist Just Clark performs at the Cinema Bar this week, and he told the News about what he has in store for Culver City…

When did you start playing and performing?

I picked up guitar in high school and, with an ungifted voice, started writing bad songs. The urge to make a career out of music slowly grew and I’ve now found myself to be a pretty decent singer-songwriter at the age of 26.

Describe your sound/style?

Americana (country-folk-blues).

What are your career highlights so far?

I’ve always wanted to travel the country and live freely, but didn’t want to become a complete vagrant so I’d consider this my highlight.

What recorded music is available — particularly the most recent?
I currently have two singles available on streaming platforms, a secret demo album, and a five-track EP on its way (ETA TBA).

Have you performed at the Cinema Bar before?

I’ve never performed at the Cinema Bar!

What can the audience expect from the set this time?

Expect a fresh adaptation on classic songwriters of the ‘60s/’70s.

What else do you have coming up?

I’m in the midst of a great western tour with many cross country dates coming up. I’m always on the road it feels.

Just Clark performs with Richard Gans at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 at the Cinema Bar. Go to thecinemabar.com for more information about the show.
