It was the “Best of” times…

So, we’ve been working on the “Best of” Culver City issue for a while now. Most of the winners are businesses or people that I’m familiar with, but there are a few that were new to me. The restaurants I’m particularly aware of, mostly because my appetites steer me in that direction. Some of the home improvement winners are still unfamiliar to me, mostly because my home is not in need of improvement. It’s actually more in need of me being there more often. But such is the life of a newspaper man.

Again this year, readers of this paper have weighed in and shared their opinions about their favorite restaurants, bars, businesses, shops, places of interest, people and things to do, which enrich the city and make this a unique and special locale.

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s “Best of,” without whom Culver City would simply include a list of a “better than the alternative” group of “winners.” It is this list of extraordinary businesses that make Culver City not only a quintessential reason for residing in this ever-evolving city, but a destination for tourists throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

There were many repeat winners, established businesses that year after year, maintain the public’s favor and support, but there were several new winners this time, which bodes well for an exciting future in this city.

We look forward to your feedback to see how you will respond to this year’s list. And, furthermore, we would love to hear your thoughts about how we might improve the categories for next year’s “Best of” list. As always, this list is designed so that you, the reader, can narrow the field of choices and make an informed decision about goods and services, people and places, etc., based upon the suggestions of other readers.

Our “Best of” issue will be hitting the newsstand soon, so be on the lookout. Hope you enjoy!
