Police continue to search for an unidentified driver who killed a pedestrian near Culver City on Nov. 16 and are offering a $50,000 reward for information on the hit and run.
The 15 year-old pedestrian, who had not been identified at press time, was struck at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Venice Boulevard near Hughes and Clarington avenues in Palms, according to the Los Angeles Police Dept.
Police say the car involved in the hit and run is a maroon 2001 Buick LeSabre and its license plate number is 7KWC773.
A LAPD patrol car was following the driver at the time of the collision, who police believe is a black male in his mid-thirties. Officers had determined that the LeSabre had been stolen from Venice recently and began to pursue suspect. They believe that upon realizing that he was being tailed sped up, striking and killing the pedestrian mid-block.
The car was last seen driving westbound on Venice.
LAPD is asking anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident to contact Det. Mustafa Hassanzai of the Los Angeles Police Dept.’s Multi-Disciplinary Collision Investigation Team at (213) 486-0690.
