Rep. Karen Bass (D-Culver City) and Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell (D-Culver City) recently announced their endorsement of Nancy Goldberg for Culver City Unified School District School Board. Goldberg was introduced by Bass to those in attendance at the congresswoman’s Town Hall Meeting for Education Reform on Sept. 28.

Mitchell, whose local office is located in Culver City, expressed confidence in Goldberg as an excellent candidate to serve on the school board.

Goldberg said she has received support from every endorsing organization in the community and is looking forward to continuing her commitment to education by serving as a member of the school board after recently retiring from teaching at Culver City High School.

A gathering will be held at the home of former school board president Barbara Honig and former mayor Gary Silbiger to meet with Goldberg on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at their home, 4436 Jasmine Ave. in the Carlson Park area. Light refreshments will be served.

“This will be an opportunity to hear from Nancy, ask questions and learn about current issues facing our school district and our children,” explained Honig.

Honig, Silbiger and their son, Karlo, the current school board vice president, said they look forward to welcoming neighbors to this event. RSVP by calling (310) 839-9793 or (310) 567-2167, or emailing barbarahonig@juno.com.
