Due to the upcoming closure of the 405 freeway, the Culver City Fire Department will open its Department Operations Center on July 16 and 17. The closure is expected to bring challenges and complications to residents, businesses and visitors to Culver City, so city officials say they plan to make public safety a priority. The fire department will be prepared with additional resources and staff for unpredicted situations.
To ensure a safer weekend, the city is encouraging motorists not to drive unnecessarily and is working actively to keep the community informed by providing traffic updates at culvercity.org, Facebook, radio station AM 1690 and other media outlets.
