Foundation secrets are revealed

Hello Gorgeous. I thought this week we would talk about foundations. Just like in life a good foundation is important in makeup as well.

I hear so often that women don’t like the way their foundation feels or blends on their skin and they spend more time switching from one brand to another than they do feeling happy and comfortable about their skin and the way they look.

My favorite foundations are Mineral Makeup and Aerosol “Air Brush” style products. Personally I have become a HUGE fan of Mineral Makeup these last few years. I love the coverage and light matte finish.

Recently, MAC Cosmetics introduced a whole new Mineral Makeup line called, “Mineralize”, so I decided to give it a try. I was skeptical as through the years I have not always been excited about MAC Foundations—I have experienced less than adequate coverage and multiple breakouts associated with their foundations. I’m happy to report that with this new “Mineralize” line MAC has really hit a home run!!

After switching my own personal morning makeup routine to MAC’s Studio Moisture Tint and the Loose Mineralize Foundation I had no issues or breakouts and I fell in love.

When I needed new foundation in my professional makeup kit I bought the MAC Mineralize Satin Finish SPF 15 Foundations and I find it too delivers amazing light to medium, buildable coverage. When you pair it with the MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural Powder to set the liquid foundation the finished look is flawless.

Mineral makeup feeds your skin healthy nutrients throughout the day while keeping it balanced and moisturized. I’m truly impressed with MAC Cosmetics and their new foundation formulas and I applaud them for listening to the needs of the consumer. This product not only looks and feels good but does good things for your skin. The packaging is convenient and portable making touch-ups throughout the day an option if necessary.

While we are on the subject let’s discuss “Air-Brush” style foundations and the different application techniques you have to choose from.

Airbrush guns are not only pricey, averaging $200-$300 for a full set-up, they are not convenient for the average consumer to use on a daily basis. They clog, the mechanisms get jammed and the compressors that come with the airbrush gun hardly ever deliver enough power to get a decent finish to the foundation and spread it evenly across your face and neck.

So what’s the solution to all this mess and fuss—Dior Air Flash Foundation. Rather than waste all your time in the mornings with an airbrush gun try this little aerosol version of airbrush foundation. I don’t recommend you spray this product directly on your face like you would any other airbrush product. I prefer to blend the two shades I have selected on a makeup palette or the back of my hand then apply the product with a standard Kabuki Brush (often used for loose powders) gently swirling the brush in small circles across your face and neck to blend the foundation perfectly.

J’adore Dior. This product is consistent and delivers the most amazing finish on all skin types—many of my clients say it does not feel like a liquid makeup at all.

It provides medium to full buildable, coverage with a soft matte finish. This is my all-time favorite liquid foundation and it has replaced my relic of an airbrush gun— forever.
