A British national who at one time lived in Santa Monica was arrested in Palm Springs on Dec. 29 after traveling to the desert vacation spot with his 2-year old daughter.
Jack Perry, 31, was arrested on suspicion of child abduction after leaving Los Angeles with his daughter Lucia. The child’s mother has custody of the two-year old and reported her missing after Perry allegedly fled to Palms Springs on Christmas Eve.
The Perrys are in the middle of divorcing and Jack Perry has only supervised visits with his daughter. Following her father’s arrest, Lucia Perry was reunited with her mother.
Elise Perry pleaded for her daughter’s safe return days before her estranged husband was traced to an apartment in Palm Springs.
“It’s been four and a half days and she’s never been a day away from me. I miss her so much. I just want to know that she’s safe,” she said at a Dec. 28 press conference.
Police say Perry was located after a witness saw a community alert and contacted them after recognizing Perry and his daughter. Police say Perry has access to an airplane and they were unsure if he planned to flee the county with his daughter.
Jack Perry had reportedly had an arrest in La Vegas on suspicion of forgery.
