Farragut Elementary School recently raised $34,000 at its recent Artworks fundraiser. Martha Sigall, voted Culver City’s favorite resident by readers of the News, and a former Warner Bros. animator, donated one of her famous Porky Pig animation cels. It was also her 94th birthday. She celebrated with candles, cake and 200 people singing Happy Birthday to her.

Patrons described the food as delicious. The event included great auction items and dancing. Royal T Café and Art Space donated space and Culver City mayor Micheal “Mehaul” O’Leary, owner of Joxer Daly’s, supplied the alcohol. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mike Eskridge of The Culver City Flower shop were some of the many sponsors. Culver City Unified School District Superintendent Patricia Jaffe and Janice Pober, Sony’s senior vice president of corporate responsibility, were among the gala’s special guests.
