Crime Blotter: Dec. 27 to Jan. 2

Forgery

On Dec. 27, at 11:10 a.m., someone went to the police department to report his father might have been a victim of a forgery. He said he was checking his father’s bank records and noticed that the account was missing funds. He also noticed that the activity was related to one individual who had written checks to herself.

Stolen Vehicle

On Dec. 27, at 11:35 p.m., officers responded to 3800 block of Culver Center Street regarding a stolen vehicle. They met with the victim who said he parked and locked his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle at 10 p.m. When he returned at 11:15 p.m., he discovered his motorcycle missing.

Car Burglary

On Dec. 29, at 2:30 p.m., someone went to the police department to report his 2008 Chevrolet was broken into. He said he parked and locked it in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard 1 p.m. When he returned at 2:30 p.m., he discovered property missing.

Assault

On Dec. 29, at 3:35 p.m., officers responded to the 10700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a battery. They met with the victim who said she was waiting in a line to use the recyclable machine when she was approached by male suspect who asked her if he could use the machine before her. She said she was about to answer when he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed her away from the machine.

Attempt Commercial Burglary

On Dec. 31, at 8:30 a.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met victim who said the business was locked and secured at 12:30 a.m. At 8 a.m. the next day, employees arrived and noticed the back door had been tampered with and was missing bolts from the hinges.

Vandalism

On Jan.1, at 6 p.m., officers were flagged down by a person who said she parked her vehicle in the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard at 5:20 p.m., and that when she returned at 5:55 p.m., she discovered her car had been keyed.
