Crime Blotter: Dec. 19 to Dec. 26

Commercial Burglary

            A victim called the police department to report her purse had been stolen. She said that she was at work in her office in the 5400 block of Sepulveda Boulevard on Dec. 15, sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., when a female suspect entered her office and stole her purse from a desk. The suspect was described as a black woman in her 40s.

Street Robbery

            Officers responded to the 4600 block of Elenda Street regarding a robbery at 8:30 a.m., Dec. 21. They met with the victim, who said he was walking home on Overland Avenue about 5 p.m., when he was approached by a heavy-set Latino, 17-19 years of age, wearing dark clothing. The Latino grabbed him, went into his pockets, removed his property and then fled.

Car Burglary

            A motorist phoned police and said a parked and locked 2002 BMW, which was said to  have been parked and locked at 4 p.m., in the 13400 block of Washington Boulevard was gone when the person returned an hour and 15 minutes later.

Residential Burglary

            On Dec. 21, officers met with someone who said she left her residence in the 4100 block of Layette Place locked at 7:10 a.m., and when she returned at 8:45 p.m., discovered her bedroom window had been broken and her property was missing.

Residential Burglary

            A home in the 6400 block of Green Valley Circle was apparently robbed. Officers responded to the location about 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 22 after they were told by a neighbor who was supposed to feet cat while the residents were on vacation that the unit had been ransacked.

Vandalism

            A living room window was smashed at a Culver City home on Dec. 23 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to police. It was unclear what neighborhood the crime occurred in.
