Crime Blotter for May 21 through May 27.
Vandalism:
On May 21 at 6 p.m. a victim called the police department to report vandalism to his building. The victim said his building is located in the 5400 block of Kinston Avenue and May 7 he noticed unknown suspect(s) had sprayed painted the wall to his garage.
Attempt Residential Burglary:
On May 23 at 7:20 p.m. officers responded to the 4200 block of Mildred Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he left his residence locked and secured and when he returned at 2 p.m. he noticed his gate to the side of the house was opened. He then noticed a screen to a window had been removed and left on the ground. He checked his residence and discovered none of his property was missing.
Car Burglary:
On May 25 at 12:30 p.m. officers responded to the 6000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a car burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; she parked and locked her 2008 Jeep at 11 a.m.. When she returned at 12:40 p.m. she discovered her passenger window had been smashed out and her property missing.
Street Robbery:
On May 25 at 8 p.m. a victim called the police department to report he was a victim of a robbery. The victim said he was in the 5700 block of Eveward Road working on an electrical box when he was approached by a male Black, 5’7, average build, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The suspect told him “Give me your phone” and said he had a knife. Fearing for his safety the victim gave the suspect his phone. The suspect then fled the area.
Stolen Vehicle:
On May 26 at 1:45 p.m. a victim came to the police department to report her 2004 Toyota had been stolen. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 9600 block of Lucerne Avenue May 25 at 10 p.m. When she returned the next day at 1:30 p.m. her car was missing.
