The Culver City Police Department is proud to announce that on Monday, Aug. 11, after 34 years of distinguished service, Scott Bixby was appointed by the City Council as the Culver City Police Department’s 25th Police Chief.
Chief Bixby began his career with the Culver City Police Department in 1974 as a Police Explorer. He then worked as a Community Service Officer and was hired as a Police Officer in 1980. Throughout his career, Chief Bixby has worked virtually every assignment at the Culver City Police Department: he was the Assistant City Manager of Culver City, and was the Deputy Director of L.A. Impact, a regional drug task force. Chief Bixby served as the Culver City Police Department’s Assistant and Interim Chief for the last five years before being appointed to Chief of Police.
