The Culver City Police Department issued a statement this week, informing the public that officers had seized drugs and a firearm while conducting a traffic stop.

“During a traffic stop late Monday night near the 3900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl, an illegally possessed firearm, and an extended 30 round magazine,” the CCPD said. “Both of the occupants in the vehicle were arrested for multiple charges and booked at the Culver City Jail.”

Just a couple of days later, on January 24, they reported that, “On Thursday morning, officers were patrolling the La Ballona Creek area when they spotted a man acting suspiciously near a parked vehicle. As they approached, he tried to flee on his bike, while two others exited the vehicle.”

“All three were detained, and the investigation revealed a stash of drug paraphernalia, illegal substances, firearms (including two ghost guns), ammunition, and stolen credit cards,” they continued. “One person received a citation, while the other two were booked at the Culver City Jail.”

The two incidents are not thought to be connected.
