The Culver City Police Department released a statement on Thursday, February 13, stating that they had received a call about a woman who had been found unresponsive at Culver City Park.
“Today at approximately 7:23 AM, the Culver City Police Department received a call from a passerby that a woman was seen down on the ground and unresponsive in the area of Culver City Park,” police said. “When officers arrived on the scene shortly after the call, they located a deceased female adult, believed to be between the ages of 40-50 years old.”
The police said that officers secured the area, “and sought witnesses who may have seen what occurred. Culver City Park was closed temporarily, allowing detectives to conduct a thorough investigation. Preliminary information indicates that the woman succumbed to self-inflicted wounds. The woman’s identity is withheld pending notifications to the next of kin, and we extend our deepest condolences to all loved ones of the woman.”
