Culver City High School 10th grade student Ava Steins has had her artwork featured in the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s 2024 calendar, which has the theme “Being Water Wise Is…”

“Steins, along with fourth grader Dagny Tang from Montemalaga Elementary School in Palos Verdes Estates, joined 34 regional student artists in a virtual recognition ceremony by Metropolitan on Dec. 14,” said Amy Rocha, manager of communications at West Basin Municipal Water District. “The entries by Steins and Tang were first selected by West Basin as part of its 2023 student art contest conducted in the spring. West Basin advanced the entries to the MWD competition to compete against dozens of submissions from other member agencies.”

The art was selected by MWD from a competitive regional pool, “students Ava Steins from Culver City High School in Culver City and Dagny Tang from Montemalaga Elementary School in Palos Verdes Estates joined 34 regional student artists in a virtual recognition ceremony on Dec. 14.”
