During the last few weeks the Culver City Lions Club has held eyesight screenings in Culver City elementary schools. The tests are performed by optometrists in order to diagnose vision problems such as myopia, astigmatism and other conditions so that can be corrected at an early age.
The Lions Club has been conducting free eye screenings at the start of each school year since 1951, saving the Culver City Unified School District between $5,000 and $10,000 each year.
