On Sept. 25 the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition (SBBEC) hosted its annual SEED Awards, recognizing local businesses, individuals and organizations that are doing their part to help the environment.
Culver City nominees that were recognized at the award ceremony for their inspiring efforts to improve the quality of life and the environment included: Transition Culver City, Walk n’ Rollers and Ballona Creek Renaissance.
Culver City is part of the South Bay Business Environmental Coalition’s (SBBEC)local government members group that strives to encourage and inspire environmental sustainability strategies.
The SBBEC’s Cities Subcommittee developed the SoCal Environmental Excellence Development (SEED) Awards Program to honor local individuals, groups, and businesses that have exhibited excellence in helping to improve environmental sustainability and quality of life in the South Bay. This unique event is the only such ceremony hosted in the South Bay, partnering businesses with local government and showcasing environmental leaders in their communities.
This year’s festivities were hosted at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes. SBBEC is looking forward to recognizing more stewards of the environment in the coming year.
