Santa Barbara Americana rockers the Cadillac Angels have released a string of excellent albums and have performed with the likes of Link Wray and Carl Perkins. They have performed in 35 states and 8 countries, and they won “Best Roots Demo” at South by Southwest in Austin Texas. When did you start playing and performing?
I’m not sure of the exact starting date. I think it’s been about 30+ years now. The band started with one of my best friends who still plays bass with me in Santa Barbara.
Describe your sound/style?
American music (rock and roll). A blend of many styles that has evolved into our style and sound.
What are your career highlights so far?
Opening for Link Wray and Carl Perkins, and getting to spend some quality time alone with both of them.
What recorded music is available — particularly the most recent?The Hillbilly Girls CD. Also, the Rockin The Heartland CD and the Surf This Guitar CD. All original music.
When was the last time you performed at Cinema Bar?
[Never], that I can recall.
What can the audience expect from the set this time?
Original music. Maybe a little Link Wray.
What else do you have coming up?
A vinyl project LP [featuring] 10 original songs.
