Baseball starts and playoffs ends for four Culver City teams

The Culver City high school baseball season starts this Saturday at 11 a.m. when the Centaurs face Marshall high school on the Culver City baseball field.  Their second game of the season will be Tuesday against East Los Angeles Roosevelt at 3 p.m. on the Culver City field.

The Centaurs will be led by the pitching of hard throwing Nolan Martinez, two sport star Mason Mulvihill, Michael Netzel, Jacob Weiner and Max Sterner.

Although the girls’ basketball team advanced to the third round of the CIF playoffs but four other Culver City teams lost their first round games last week.  The boys’ basketball team was beaten by Los Altos of Hacienda Heights 97-80.  They ended their season with a record of 12-15. The boys’ soccer team lost to El Dorado of Placentia 1-0.  They ended their season at 13-10-3.  The girls’ soccer team finished their season when Burbank upset the Centaurs 1-0.  They Canyon of Lake Elsinore 8-4.
