Culver City residents can help “Reach for Rainbows” at the annual fundraiser hosted by the Friends of the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center. The group’s major fundraiser is on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Culver City.

The honorees at this year’s event are The Culver City Woman’s Club, and John Riordan, owner of John Riordan Plumbing, Inc. The members of the Woman’s Club and Mr. Riordan have contributed to the fabric of our community for decades through monetary donations and supportive events. Their efforts have helped many families reach for rainbows with hope and optimism.

The affair begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction, music provided by Ronnie Jayne, well known entertainer and Culver City resident, a no-host bar, and continues with dinner, a program, and a live auction. A special tribute to Andy Alexander, who passed away last year, will be presented.  She was a dynamic force in establishing the Health Center and raising funds for its ongoing services through the years.

Join the Friends group in celebrating these two honorees for their many years of contributions to the community. The cost of the event is $100 per person until Feb. 13, or $110 at the door.  All proceeds go to the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center located on the campus of Culver City Middle and High School.

The Health Center is operated by the Venice Family Clinic and provides free, quality health care for Culver City students. Some of the services offered are physicals, immunizations, vision and hearing tests, care for ongoing illnesses and conditions, prescription medications, and mental health counseling provided by the Los Angeles Child Development Center.
