The month of April has been designated Earthquake Preparedness month in the State of California.

It is estimated that the average person needs approximately one gallon of water per day, and having an adequate supply of water in case of an emergency should be a priority.

The Culver City Emergency Preparedness team along with the Lindberg Park Neighborhood Watch are pleased to announce their new program — Water First.

Water First is a program that allows residents of Culver City to purchase 55 gallon water barrels at a group discounted rate. It is being organized by Christine Parra, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator of the Culver City Fire Department. The 55 gallon water storage system comes with a barrel, siphon pump, 2 caps, plastic wrench and water preservative.

“We hope that you will consider participating in this program,” CC  emergency preparedness organizers said .
