Turning 100 years old is no small feat. Even for Culver City, with a population of around 40,000. But come October, the city’s Centennial Celebration’s Grand Gale will be a red carpet affair.
The event, to begin on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m., will take place at Sony Pictures Studios, the titled sponsor of the gala.
Most of the festivities will be held on their beautiful patio and grass area with some enclosed seating in the commissary and the attached covered seated patio.
The Culver City Centennial Celebration Committee has announced that tickets to its October gala are now on sale. General admission ticket price is $125. Ticket price includes greeting, step and repeat photo opportunity, reception with appetizers and cocktails as guests arrive.
It will be the official kick-off of a year-long celebration of activities planned around the history of “the Heart of Screenland.”
Plans to the celebrate Culver City’s centennial have been in the works for two years. The city was incorporated on Sept. 20, 1917.
Guests can mingle and rub shoulders with the community’s finest before enjoying a buffet dinner expertly crafted by Wolfgang Puck Catering.
For Gold and Platinum sponsors a special VIP reception. For Silver and Bronze sponsors, general admission Gala tickets among other benefits are included in sponsorship packages. To purchase tickets, please go to http://www.culvercity100.org
