Congress condemns organ harvesting in China

In the U.S., the average waiting period for an organ is at least 2 years or

more. In China, some organ transplant hospitals have claimed the waiting

period is 15 days. There must be a very large supply of organs in China.

Where do they come from?

According to credible investigations, the Chinese Communist regime has been

harvesting organs from prisoners of conscience for profit since around 2000.

Vital organs from Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, and house

Christians are forcibly removed and sold to Chinese in need of organs and

transplant tourists, including Americans.

Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese spiritual practice based on the principles

of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. It is persecuted in China, but

practiced in more than 80 countries.

On June 13, 2016, the U.S. Congress passed H.Res.343 “expressing concern

regarding persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned

organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience in the People’s

Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners

and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups.”

I sincerely thank Congresswoman Maxine Waters, representing 43rd district,

for cosponsoring the resolution.
