Vehicle vandalism
On May 12, a female reported that her 2008 Mitsubishi had been vandalized near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Harter Avenue. A mechanic who told her someone had poured sugar in her gas tank.
Vehicle burglary
On May 18, a male reported that the stereo of his 2007 Chevy Tahoe, which he said he parked and locked about 10 a.m. in the 900 block of Corporate Pointe, was missing when he returned about eight hours later.
Attempted robbery
About 12:45 a.m. on May 20, police were called to the 5900 block of Canterbury Drive to investigate a robbery. A male told them that he was walking southbound on Canterbury when a black man, 20 – 25 years old, wearing dark-colored shorts and a light-colored sweatshirt approached him, drew a knife and demanded his money. The victim successfully fled the location.
Residential burglary
About 10 a.m. that day, officers went to a woman’s home in the 12500 block of Washington Place to investigate a reported burglary. She said she walked to the laundry room and found the door open and the screen torn. She also said she noticed a copper drain pipe was missing.
Attempted commercial burglary
Surveillance video indicated that three people tried to steal an ATM machine by tying a chain to it and pulling it with a vehicle. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Corporate Pointe either during the night of May 22 or in the early hours of the following morning. Investigating officers found that the cash machine had become detached from the building. It was unclear what prevented the suspects from taking the machine.
