Vice Mayor Freddy Puza has announced that he’s co-hosting an event, “to support those impacted by recent wildfires in Los Angeles County and celebrate the strength of our community.”

The event will be hosted in partnership with Taylor Fine Art and the Culver-Palms Family YMCA.

“[I] hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this devastating time,” Puza said in a statement. “It’s important to be in community as we continue to process, cope, and eventually heal. Join us for an inspiring evening of action and support!”

The event takes place on Saturday, January 25 and will feature live entertainment. “Enjoy art and performances from local artists,” Puza said. “There will also be a live painting of Culver City firefighters by former Culver City Artist Laureate Alexey Steele.”

In addition, local small businesses will be donating their services. There will be food and drink, and of course the relief drive itself.

“All donations will go directly to organizations aiding those impacted by the wildfires,” Puza’s statement reads. “There are many Culver City employees and firefighters who have been impacted by the wildfires and we will be raising funds for these folks.”

According to the statement, items requested by the YMCA include: new socks, underwear, bra, toilet paper, paper towels, 4/5t diapers and pull ups, laundry pods, & hair and body wash.

“Together, we can make a difference and lend a helping hand to those in need,” Puza said. “Bring your friends, family, and a donation to show your support. Community is our greatest gift. Hope to see you there!”

The event takes place at 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at a location provided following RSVP. Attendees must RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/culver-city-wildfire-relief-drive-community-event-tickets-1145933390619?aff=oddtdtcreator.
