On Saturday, January 18, the American Humane Society hosted a free wellness clinic for pets affected by the California wildfires at the Rover Kennels.
“Pet parents can bring their animals for a free wellness check and vaccinations,” Rover Kennels posted to their socials in advance.
On the day itself, they posted, “The Rover team would like to thank @americanhumane [American Humane Society], @zoetispetcare [Zoetis Petcare], @destination.pet [Destination Pet], @yourgipet [Yourgipet], @purplepawspetclinic [the Purple Paws Pet Clinic], @overlandveterinaryclinic [Overland Veterinary Clinic], and many more for their contributions today and for allowing us to host you! What an amazing day getting these pups the care they needed!”
“We’re at Rover Kennels Culver City, a Yourgi Pet Pack member, preparing for a day of care and compassion for pets affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires,” said the American Humane Society on the day. “Our Pet Wellness Clinic has been made possible through the generous support of the Destination Pet Foundation.”
They noted that their team was hard at work creating a welcoming space for pets and their families, by setting up wellness stations, organizing pet food and pet treats from The Honest Kitchen and Brutus Broth, and assembling American Humane Society pet gift bags, including leashes, water bowls and chew toys.
“Licensed veterinarians and vet techs from Destination Pet and Ethos Veterinary Health will be on-site to provide free vaccinations, wellness checks and preventive care—thanks to a generous donation of supplies from Zoetis Petcare,” they said. “We’re proud to join forces with our amazing sponsors and volunteers to bring this event to life. Stay tuned for updates as this inspiring day of hope and healing unfolds! With everything in place, we’re ready to welcome 175+ pets and their families today.”
