Celebrating May as Older Americans Month: For the past 56 years, the President, the Governor, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors have designated the month of May as Older Americans Recognition Month. The theme for 2022 is: ‘Age My Way’. In May 2022 the Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults (LACCOA) and Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS) will host their 57th Annual awards event. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the event will be held virtually. At this awards program, honorees from around L.A. County will be recognized for their dedication to community service via a video montage and by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Culver City is able to submit one nominee who exemplifies the true spirit of this year’s theme ‘Age My Way.’ If you have any questions please email Recreation & Community Services Supervisor Jill Thomsen at jill.thomsen@culvercity.org or call her at 310-253-6722.
