Masses gathered, mostly safe and masked, at the Town Plaza in Downtown Culver City on Thursday evening to celebrate the lighting of the tree with Mayor Alex Fisch, the other council members, and Santa Claus.
With music provided by, among others, Culver City Middle School’s choir and Culver City High School’s jazz program, spirits were soaring as the button was pushed and the towering Christmas tree illuminated the area.
There were games to be played, a snow machine to frolic with, free cookies courtesy of local businesses, and of course Santa was on hand to give out gifts to the kids.
