Noelle Freeman, recent graduate of Chapman University hopes to eventually own her own advertising agency…and to be crowned Miss America.

Noelle Freeman of Culver City will attempt to become the next Miss America next year.

Freeman won the title of Miss Culver City earlier this year and went on to compete at the Miss California Pageant, where she was crowned Miss California 2011 on June 25.

She will represent California at the Miss America 2012 Pageant on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Hotel.

The 21-year-old will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Freeman ran on the platform, “A Promising Future for Autism.” Her talent is ballet én pointe.

The Miss California Pageant featured 59 contestants. She was not named a winner in the preliminary rounds and said she was “shocked” to hear her name come up in the top 12. “I was content with that,” she said.

Then, she made the top five. And when they named the runners-up, she said she kept expecting her name to be called. “When I won, I didn’t even hear my name called,” she said. “I kept looking down at the sash to make sure it was actually happening. Only when the crown touched my head, I was sure.”

A recent graduate of Chapman University, Noelle holds a pair of bachelor’s degree – one in Advertising and Marketing and another in Communications. She hopes to eventually own her own advertising agency. Her current goal is to win the title of Miss America.
