Popular radio and television host and producer Ryan Seacrest announced on his syndicated radio show, “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” that he is committed to finding a dog by May 1. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) encourages Mr. Seacrest to adopt a shelter dog.

“spcaLA has wonderful dogs ready for new homes,” Madeline Bernstein, President spcaLA, said. “And, unlike a dog purchased from a breeder or pet shop, spcaLA dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and given some basic obedience training prior to adoption.”

When adopting from spcaLA, one receives a new family member – one that will stay in the home for years to come. spcaLA’s animal behavior and training department offers a robust enrichment program for all the shelter pets in its care. Everyone, from spcaLA volunteers to the public just visiting the shelter, helps to enrich the lives of animals waiting to be adopted.

Dogs learn basic obedience and manners, making them happier and less stressed while they wait for their forever homes. As an added benefit, the training they learn at spcaLA makes them more attractive to potential adopters, and better companion dogs who are more likely to stay in their new homes.

SpcaLA shelter dogs range in age, breed (as many as 20 percent look to be purebred), size and activity level, but they all have one thing in common: they are looking for a friend for life.

Seacrest is invited to visit either of spcaLA’s pet adoption centers and meet the best pets in Los Angeles.
