On location in Culver City

Just this past Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Culver City Hall Council Chambers, a student film by Culver City High School Students was being produced.

On Wednesday, April 4, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the Culver Hotel, Town Plaza, production crews were busy shooting scenes for a TV pilot, titled “Meant.”

Thursday, April 5, all day at Smashbox studios, 8549 Higuera St, an interior and exterior photo shoot will be taking place.

Then at Westfield Culver City, 6000 Sepulveda Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Hip Hop Singer Nicki Minaj will be signing autographs. Nicki Minaj is the first female solo artist to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.

TRIVIA: Did you know that Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo is a Culver City High School Alumni? Or that in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 blockbuster movie “E.T.” Culver City High School, located on Elenda Street at Franklin Avenue, is the school that the main character, Elliot, attends?

Great news! Culver City, also known as “The Heart of Screenland,” has waived all location permit fees for film and television production. If interested in filming in Culver City contact the Filming Office at the Culver City Police Department, (310) 253-6212.
