The Mar Vista Family Center (MVFC) will offer its 18th Summer Day Camp, a six-week day camp program designed to provide economically disadvantaged children and youth a safe haven to discover new abilities, build self-esteem, and develop social skills.

The participants are children from high-needs neighborhoods that are impacted by violence, crime, poverty, and lack of parental supervision.

The summer camp program is offered at no cost to qualifying families and offers 125 children ages 6 to 12 years a wide range of exciting activities including arts and crafts, dance, sports, and creative arts, as well as a free lunch every day. The participants also attend field trips to local educational and cultural sites including the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, The California Science Center, La Plaza de Culturas y Artes and more.
