Downtown Culver City continues to bring out the crowds with its latest summer soiree, the Third Wednesday’s ‘Tropical Staycation’ 4th annual ‘Spiked Tropical Punch Tasting.”

Taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., the event will feature samples of alcohol-infused tropical punch for adults, while those under 21 will be able to partake of non-alcoholic versions.

Attendees can go to any participating business to pick up a passport that they will then present to the bartenders of the other participating businesses in order to get their punch. At the end of the night, attendees can turn in the passport to LaRocco’s Pizzeria on Main Street where it will be entered in a raffle to win prizes such as gift cards to local restaurants.

“They basically go to any business where they will receive a passport which will list all of the participating businesses,” said Eric Sims, president of the Culver City Downtown Business Association. “They can then take that passport around and get it stamped at each place they go and then turn it in at the end of the night to win prizes. They can go to as many or as few as they want.”

While participants stroll along Downtown Culver City, they can enjoy the sounds of Caribbean musicians Island Rhythms and Nesta.

Parking is free in municipal structures for up to two hours and valet parking is available at three convenient Downtown locations.
Culver City’s Downtown area is southern California’s best-kept secret with its mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and restaurants.

Thanks to the numerous outdoor cafes, galleries, and nightlife, Downtown Culver City has become the place to be on Wednesday nights. The famous Kirk Douglas Theatre, Sony Studios, and the Culver Studios are just a few of the reasons why this is L.A.’s best-kept secret.

Downtown Culver City is located just south of the 10 Freeway and east of the 405, between the intersections of Culver and Washington blvds and Duquesne Avenue.
