Kids are invited, with their parents or caretakers, to create a craft, have a snack and learn more about the theme of the month through read-aloud story time and retail activations.

On Sept. 4, kids (ages 2-5) will read about a mouse that goes to school in the book “If You Take a Mouse to School” by Laura Numeroff. The kids will go on an adventure with the modern classic “Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale” by Mo Willems.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County set a Labor Day record today of $4.173, erasing the previous record of $3.958 set last year.

Analysts attribute the record to the Aug. 6 fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, which reduced its refining capacity and supplies.
