Local Woman’s Club reaches out to commuity, plans trip to Montecito

The public is invited to join the

Culver City Woman’s Club for a

trip to Lotusland in Montecito on

Wednesday, October 9, 2013. The

well-known Polish opera singer

and socialite, Madame Ganna Walska

purchased the estate in 1941

and spent the next 43 years creating

a magnificent botanical garden.

The docent-led tour of approximately

one-and-a-half hours will

cover highlights of the 35-acre

wonderland of various gardens featuring

ferns, lotuses, cycads and

also a charming butterfly garden.

The coach will leave at 9:30 am

and will return at approximately

5:30 pm. The pick-up location will

be announced.

The cost of the trip is $68 and

includes admission and tour of the

gardens, lunch at the Summerland

Beach Café, transportation and tax

and tips.

Founded in 1920, the Culver

City Woman’s Club actively participates

in local social and cultural

events. Its philanthropies include

Meals on Wheels, the USO (LAX)

and Foster Care for Children.

on the second Monday of the

month at 11 a.m. at: Fellowship

Hall Culver Palms United Methodist

Church located at 4464 Sepulveda

Blvd. Culver City, CA 90230.

Lunch is served at noon and followed

by some form of entertainment.

Price is $10 per guest, all are

welcome.
